The end of a long, hard day.

The end of a long, hard day

The end of a long, hard day.

Today was long–really long. Nothing went horribly wrong, and the kids pretty much completed what was asked of them, but still the day lagged. It reminded me a bit of my childhood dreams where I would fall, but no matter how hard I tried, I could not get up.

And yet, at 4:30 when Emelie and I wrapped up our last Math lesson and the kids returned their books and binders to the shelves before heading off in different directions, I stayed put.

I sat and soaked in the end of day’s stillness.

I sat and stared out the window.

I sat and silenced my mind.

Homeschooling is not easy. Some days, in the midst of it, it isn’t even preferable, but it is always worth it.
